STEP 1: Engaging in Self-Assessment
Before you begin research there are a few questions to ask yourself:
- When is a good time to become involved in research during your undergraduate career?
- Can you afford to take some time away from your coursework during the relevant semester?
- What are your areas of research interest? Consider subjects or classes that have excited you.
- Is participation in research relevant to your long-term goals? Do you plan to go to graduate or professional school? Do you want to be more competitive in the job market when you complete your undergraduate education?
