STEP 5: Selecting a Faculty Mentor and Beginning Research

Request to work with a faculty mentor. Once a faculty mentor agrees to work with a student, the student will work closely under their guidance.
During the research, consider the following opportunities to strengthen your comprehensive research experience: attend the OUR workshops for undergraduate researchers, apply for future research opportunities, present at SURE, apply for a travel award to present off-campus, and other opportunities found at the OUR website.
