Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) at UCF

The National Science Foundation (NSF) supports Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) throughout UCF. NSF annually funds over 400 sites nationwide in a range of technical areas to offer undergraduates an opportunity to "experience" the research environment with the goal of increasing future participation in graduate school programs. NSF sponsors undergraduate research through two main avenues, (1) REU supplements, which supplement individual NSF research grants and (2) REU sites, which are programs that engage a number of students over one unifying theme and are independent proposals focused on undergraduate research.  Both types of REU funding can be found at UCF. Supplemental funding may be granted to anyone with an NSF research grant. UCF is also the home of several NSF REU site grants that offer summer research programs to UCF students, as well as other students from other universities:
